Ok. Let me give you the background here. I have a friend who likes to silk screen, has been doing it for a few years. He has this dream to be a huge shirt maker. He wants me to be his artist. He has found my style is best suited for this shirt company. He has told me now that we have numerous stores up to sell the shirts.
Now my question is, as the ARTIST who is making EVERY design, what are my rights? I want to be the sole proprietor of all rights in and to the artwork and want the copyright and all other rights to the artwork to be assigned to me. I don't want him to get the designs and then to take off with all the shirts. Yes he is helping me to design the shirts by the actual concepts, but it is my hand, my time, and everything that is actually producing these designs. What kind of a contract should be done? What are the basic rights to my designs??
